We are seeking a self-driven and experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to support a high-impact Whole of Government program aimed at advancing AI adoption across federal agencies. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining secure AWS infrastructure, with a strong focus on aligning with ISM controls and supporting AI application development.
Your new role
- Design, deploy, and manage AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPCs.
- Implement and maintain security protocols in line with ISM standards.
- Conduct security assessments and performance tuning of AWS environments.
- Provide technical guidance and documentation to support internal teams and APS projects.
- Lead knowledge transfer and mentoring activities.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in AWS infrastructure design and deployment.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks within government environments.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
- Experience with DevOps tools, microservices, and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and IAM principles.
- Exposure to AWS AI services (e.g., Bedrock), Azure, and scripting languages (Python, Shell). [Desirable Skill]
- AWS certifications and experience in Agile delivery environments. [Desirable Skill]
Note- Security Clearance Requirements: Applicants must be Australian citizen and hold a minimum of Baseline security clearance. Candidates without the required clearance will not be considered.
