Senior Architect

NEW Role: Registered Architect with experience in delivering projects and strong construction knowledge.

Your new company

This well-respected design studio, with a long-standing presence in Victoria, is facing growth in every corner, and planning to expand their team to appoint a Senior (Registered) Architect to join their studio. Your new role will see you in a team leader role, with the ability to manage 2-3 architects/graduates, whilst working on a few projects, from design to site. Someone with well-rounded construction knowledge would be advantageous.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Master of Architecture (or equivalent tertiary qualification).
  • You must be a registered Architect with experience working on Education/Community projects, some Commercial & Residential is a bonus.
  • 5–7 years’ full-time post-graduate experience with team-leading experience (we encourage those who are ready to step up to a team leader position to apply).
  • Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite and other graphic software.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and be confident to initiate responses, support, advice and clarification
  • Ability to make key decisions by taking ownership of the design and delivery process. Ask for feedback; value feedback received and invest in building your own skills.
  • Review and understand key stakeholders' feedback, issues or potential problems and advise the Senior Project Architect / Project Architect when issues are identified and work collaboratively toward achieving a solution or direction forward.
  • Continuously review the progression of the design direction and design goals in collaboration with the other Senior Project Architect / Project Architect and project team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, National Construction Code and local planning regulations.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Able to respond to complex issues with innovative solutions in a collaborative manner with the support of a Senior Project Architect / Project Architect and the project team.
  • Contribute to the generation and exploration of design ideas, developing an awareness of the balance of conceptual, aesthetic, constructability and cost influences.

What you'll get in return

You are important! This is not just a job to have you paid to do the same thing all over again. You will join a studio that believes in meaningful projects, a collaborative approach and mindset when it comes to working in a firm that celebrates knowledge-sharing and, most importantly, taking the lead from the front, mentoring and coaching up-and-coming architects. There's on-site parking, a half-day on Friday fortnightly and well-balanced working hours.
