Senior Accountant

Join Incat, a leading Tasmanian brand, as a Senior Accountant in a newly created opportunity.

Your new company

Hays is proud to partner with Incant in their search for a Senior Accountant to join their team on a permanent full-time basis. Incat is a globally recognised leader in aluminium shipbuilding, operating one of the world’s most advanced electric ferry manufacturing programs. Having been in operation for over 40 years, they deliver a world class product on a scale that few shipyards can match. Incat continues to shape the future of sustainable maritime transport. From pioneering high speed catamarans to constructing the world’s largest battery electric ferry, the company is firmly established as a leader in advanced manufacturing and zero emissions shipbuilding on the world stage.

Your new role

Based on site in a central Hobart location, and reporting to the Finance Manager, your core responsibility will include:
  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and consolidated financial statements.
  • Assist with ESG reporting, including data collection and disclosure coordination.
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and project costing activities.
  • Maintain up to date technical accounting knowledge and support compliance requirements.
  • Help improve financial controls, systems and reporting processes.
  • Other project work as required
You'll also maintain effective stakeholder relationships across the broader business and enjoy challenging the way things have historically been done.

What you'll need to succeed

CA/CPA qualified, you’ll be outcome focused and have the proven ability to consistently meet tight deadlines. You’ll have well developed communication skills, exceptional attention to detail and an analytical mindset which lends itself to problem solving. A high-level of proficiency in Excel is also essential, and you’ll enjoy problem solving with key stakeholders right across the organisation. This is an excellent role for someone looking for their first role in industry out of public practice, or their second role within industry.

You’ll also be prepared to undergo a national police check prior to commencement.

What you'll get in return

You’ll receive an attractive salary, free parking, excellent working conditions and the potential for career growth within a great Accounting team that experiences very low turnover. This role will give you excellent exposure across a growing business which has an international presence, and interaction beyond the finance team.
