Role Overview
- The SAP Solution Architect will own the end-to-end SAP S/4HANA solution architecture across core modules and cross-functional business processes.
- This role requires deep SAP functional and technical expertise to design, govern, and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise solutions aligned with business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end SAP S/4HANA solution architecture across core modules and cross-functional processes.
- Define target-state architecture including business process design, application landscape, integration patterns, and end-to-end data flows.
- Lead architecture governance including standards definition, design reviews, decision logs, and approval of solution designs.
- Translate business requirements into solution designs leveraging fit-to-standard principles and SAP best practices.
- Provide architectural leadership for greenfield and brownfield SAP S/4HANA transformation programs, including migration strategy, selective data transition, and remediation approach.
- Ensure alignment between business goals, SAP roadmap, and enterprise architecture strategy.
Functional & Process Coverage
- Finance: Universal Journal, Asset Accounting, Group Reporting, and Financial Close integration.
- Order-to-Cash (O2C) process design and integration.
- Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and supplier collaboration processes.
- Plan-to-Produce / Manufacturing execution and planning integration.
- Warehouse and Transportation processes, including SAP EWM and TM (where applicable).
- Define and govern Master Data Management strategy using SAP MDG or alternative models.
Integration & Technology Architecture
- Design and govern integrations using SAP BTP Integration Suite / CPI.
- Manage legacy integrations using SAP PI/PO (where applicable).
- Define API-led integration patterns using APIs, IDocs, OData services, and event-driven architectures.
- Ensure secure, scalable, and reusable integration designs across the SAP and non-SAP landscape.
Non-Functional Requirements & Governance
- Define, validate, and govern non-functional requirements including performance, availability, scalability, disaster recovery, monitoring, security, and auditability.
- Define transport management strategy, environment landscape design, and governance model.
- Support CI/CD approaches for SAP where applicable, including automation and quality controls.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise IT standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
Experience & Skills Required
- 10 to 15 years of overall SAP experience with at least 5+ years in SAP S/4HANA architecture roles.
- Proven experience leading SAP S/4HANA greenfield and/or brownfield transformation programs.
- Strong functional knowledge across multiple SAP modules with cross-functional process understanding.
- Strong knowledge of SAP integration technologies and enterprise architecture principles.
- Ability to engage with senior business stakeholders, lead design workshops, and influence architectural decisions.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
