SAP Implementation and Cutover Project Manager for a 14 month contract

Our client is a local council looking to bring on a SAP Implementation and Cutover Project Manager for an initial 14 month contract with possible extension.

Your new role

The SAP ERP S/4HANA Technical Implementation and Cutover Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of the technical cutover and implementation for the Modern ERP Program (S/4HANA). The role ensures a structured, risk-mitigated transition from legacy SAP ECC and other systems to SAP S/4HANA, managing technical cutover, system readiness and go-live execution within the SAP Activate Methodology framework.
The Technical Implementation and Cutover Project Manager will work closely with program, business, Information Services Branch (ISB), and third-party vendors to manage a complex multi-system phased cutover with minimal disruption to business operations. This role requires a highly experienced, hands-on technical leader with expertise in SAP system cutover strategies, technical readiness, and post-go-live stabilisation. The role is accountable for cutover planning, execution and risk management ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and ready for the transition.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Extensive experience in leading end-to-end SAP S/4HANA technical implementations and cutover activities, preferably in a large enterprise environment, acting as a Cutover Lead or Technical Implementation Project Manager.
  • 10+ years of technical project management experience, with proven expertise in managing ERP cutover planning, data migration, system readiness, and deployment across multi-phase SAP S/4HANA implementations.
  • Proven capability in managing large-scale ERP cutovers, including system decommissioning, legacy data transition, and hyper-care operations, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and service continuity.
  • Deep expertise in SAP landscape management and integration across SAP modules and external interfaces such as middleware, third-party applications, and cloud-based services.
