Your new role
Throughout your new role as Sample Access Network Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Processing and tracking sample requests along with their associated tickets in JIRA, maintaining sample inventory in accordance with sample movements, and updating internal resources as required.
- Apply a basic understanding of geochemistry and geochemical data to enhance communication with laboratories and ensure clarity of stakeholder expectations.
- Ensure all samples and sampling-related data is properly captured, stored, managed, and maintained in alignment with policies/practices and standards. This includes high standards of data integrity and record keeping using platforms such as JIRA, Teams folders and other.
- Manage the end-to-end financial aspects of sampling operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring the accuracy of actuals and accruals. Regularly updates financial records in the team's database to reflect current spend, maintaining a high standard of accuracy and transparency.
- Conducts due diligence research and enquiries to ensure global compliance with geographic legislation and jurisdictional differences.
- Responsible for documenting and sharing complex work instructions for complicated sampling activities.
- Proactively identifies process inefficiencies or issues, implements corrective actions, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
- Deliver training, mentorship, and onboarding support to new members and cross-functional colleagues, promoting best practices in sampling and logistics.
- Coordinates the return of samples, or facilitates safe storage or disposal, in consultation with relevant custodians.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in Project Management, or similar is desired
- Ability to liaise with stakeholders both on site and in office
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office are advantageous
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team
