I’m exclusively representing our highly regarded client, Maeil Australia in the appointment of their next senior leadership position of a Sales Manager.


Maeil Australia is the Australian subsidiary company of Maeil Dairies, one of Korea’s leading dairy and food companies. In 2021, Maeil Dairies acquired the formerly owned assets and since its takeover, Maeil Australia’s operational capabilities have gone from strength-to-strength.


Maeil Australia has a primary focus on manufacturing nutritional dairy products from speciality milks for global B2B sales in markets across Oceania, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.



Position Overview


As Sales Manager, you will be reporting directly to the CEO, and be responsible for Maeil Australia's full sales function. You will be an active and visible contributor to the Senior Leadership Team, leading in sales strategy and market insights.


Key position responsibilities:


  • Oversee the establishment of effective sales interface between Maeil Australia and their key customers.
  • Cultivate and foster long-term relationships with key customers, distributors and industry partners.
  • Engage with customers to promote the capability of Maeil Australia, to ultimately strengthen and consolidate existing accounts.
  • Identify key opportunities and areas of growth within the Australian market.
  • Drive innovative and comprehensive marketing strategies to elevate Maeil Australia’s market position.
  • Stay abreast of industry market trends, competitor activity, brands & product positioning, and product development.
  • Collaborate internally with other members of the SLT, such as Technical, QC and Production teams to drive continuous improvement and business capability.
  • Ability to view relationships from a customer-centric lens, identifying opportunities for business development and sustain mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Partner and cultivate networks with relevant organisations, professional bodies, and various associations to ensure information on export country regulations are current for correct product labelling requirements.
  • Demonstrate awareness of global market developments and impact on Maeil Australia business.
  • Stay abreast of occupational health and safety responsibilities onsite and offsite.




Candidate Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related industry field.
  • Robust working history in FMCG Sales – Dairy segments.
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing requirements and product development processes.
  • Formal training/experience in food science nutrition or human health will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated knowledge amongst third-party manufacturing.
  • High level of adaptability, exposure working in cross-functional teams, and a truly collaborative mind-set.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow commercial accounts and prospect new business opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate ideas amongst internal/external stakeholders and apply effective negotiation strategies.
  • Sound financial acumen and understanding of commercial negotiations.
  • Understanding of health and safety standards as it pertains to dairy manufacturing.
  • A true people person who can collaborate, negotiate and effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
  • High level of personal ethics: honesty, integrity, cultural respect.
