Your new role
As a Training Advisor – Underground Safety, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering inductions for underground operations and supporting surface inductions.
- Providing training and competency assessments across mining, maintenance, and operational departments.
- Maintaining accurate training records and up-to-date skills matrices for underground personnel.
- Monitoring mining contractor compliance and ensuring training requirements are met.
- Assisting in the development and revision of training packages and assessment resources.
- Leading continuous improvement efforts in training methods and tools.
- Coordinating and reporting training needs against the annual training plan.
- Supporting new starters and trainees with mentorship and guidance.
- Conducting verification of competencies and ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Delivering training sessions and awareness programs as required.
- Working on a 7/7 roster, providing structured and consistent training support.
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualifications: Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment, First Aid certification, and a manual driving licence.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in underground hard rock mining, with proven competency in operating underground machinery such as dump trucks, drilling rigs, LHD units, and more.
- Skills: Strong facilitation and presentation abilities, proficiency in MS Office, knowledge of training standards, and a solid grasp of safety and compliance requirements.
