A well-established organisation in the resources and infrastructure sector is seeking a Purchasing Officer for a short-term contract to support procurement operations during a business merger. Based in Brisbane, this three-month contract offers an immediate start and the opportunity to contribute to a high-impact integration project.
Your new role
As Purchasing Officer, you’ll play a key role in managing procurement activities across multiple operational sites, with a strong focus on clearing a backlog of procurement data and supporting the alignment of systems and processes during the merger. You’ll work closely with internal teams and suppliers to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant procurement practices.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Processing and reconciling outstanding purchase requisitions and orders
- Reviewing and cleansing procurement data to support system integration
- Coordinating procurement activities across multiple operational sites
- Ensuring documentation is complete and compliant with internal standards
- Liaising with site teams to clarify procurement requirements and resolve discrepancies
- Supporting the transition of procurement records into new systems or structures
- Maintaining accurate procurement records and reporting on progress
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- 3–5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles
- Strong attention to detail and experience managing large volumes of data
- Familiarity with procurement systems (e.g., ERP platforms)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Experience in the resources or industrial sectors is desirable.
