A leading international law firm is seeking a Projects Lawyer with at least 3 years PQE to join its dynamic Energy & Utilities and Defence Projects team. This role involves collaborating with senior lawyers and partners on complex infrastructure, procurement, and construction projects, providing strategic guidance and legal expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
Role Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, including procurement agreements, construction contracts (AS2124, AS4000, FIDIC, NEC), PPAs, EPC contracts, and O&M agreements.
Advise clients on regulatory compliance matters, particularly in defence, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
Provide legal support for tender processes, contract execution, and dispute resolution.
Develop and maintain project documentation systems and legal precedents.
Work closely with global and local teams, delivering cross-border expertise and industry-specific insights.
The Ideal Candidate
3-8 years PQE, with strong experience in energy, utilities, defence, and procurement projects.
Familiarity with National Electricity Rules (NER), ASDEFCON, and Defence Estate Works Program (EWP).
Excellent drafting and negotiation skills for high-value contracts.
Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment.
A client-first approach, providing commercially sensible and pragmatic advice.
Strong business development and relationship management skills.
