Project Support Officer

Temporary Project Support Officer on a 2-month basis within State Government

Our State Government client is looking to fill a Project Support Officer role on a 2-month basis to support a short-term initiative. This role will support a cross-functional project team, including a senior executive, in delivering key outcomes. The project operates with limited formal governance and reporting structures, so the successful candidate will need to be comfortable working independently and flexibly in a dynamic environment.


Your new role

  • Provide day-to-day administrative and logistical support to the project team and senior stakeholders.

  • Provide secretarial support for meetings and workshops, including scheduling, preparing agendas, distributing documents, and capturing minutes and action items.

  • Maintain and update project registers, trackers, and filing systems to ensure accurate documentation and version control.

  • Assist in the preparation and formatting of project deliverables, including Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, and data packs.

  • Support the collation of information and data from various team members to produce clear and professional documentation.

  • Participate in quality reviews of project outputs to ensure consistency and clarity.

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders across multiple business units to support project activities and timelines.

  • Monitor progress of tasks and follow up on outstanding actions to help keep the project on track.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in a project support, coordination, or administrative role.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint; Excel desirable).

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities

  • Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to draft and edit reports and presentations

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and confidence in engaging with stakeholders at various levels

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a distributed team environment

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
