Your new role
- Reporting to the Water Utilities Lead Engineer, this role will be responsible for execution of water pipeline projects across the Bowen Basin.
- Contractor supervision during execution and in line with the site’s Safety Health Management System (SHMS).
- Assist the Project Manager in the review of project scopes, quality systems and schedules in preparation for the execution phase of works.
- Coordinate execution of construction risk and quality management plans to assure effective management of the project’s construction scope of work
- Monitor project/program progress, so that any deviations that may impact the construction activities can be managed and the effects minimised
- Act as a “point of contact” between the Implementation Contractor and the existing operating facilities to ensure minimal disruption to both Operations and construction activities
- Liaising with key internal stakeholders within the engineering team and across sites and central departments, including maintenance, operations, environmental, etc.
- Collaborating with external stakeholders including relevant councils, Sun water, landholders, in the execution of the pipeline infrastructure projects.
- Liaising with the Site administration teams for Contractor onboarding at the execution site.
What you'll need to succeed
- 8+ years of demonstrated experience in the construction or mining industry, or other relevant experience.
- Experience delivering medium scale civil and piping projects preferred, with knowledge of relevant Australian and industry standards.
- Demonstrated contractor supervision skills in project execution.
- Demonstrated supervision experience in Contract execution.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to bring stakeholders together to solve problems collaboratively.
- Ability to mentor and develop others to deliver projects through safely supporting a diverse workforce.
- Demonstrated strong safety leadership.
- Strong focus on team culture and continuous improvement.
What you'll get in return
You will be offered a role working within the Bowen Basin located near Moranbah, Central Queensland. You will be working on a Monday to Friday roster. Hays will pay you on a weekly basis, and you will be paid an attractive hourly rate & super. Our position is commencing ASAP and is long term for the right candidate.
