Hays is currently partnering with a leading organisation to appoint an experienced Project Planner for a newly created 12-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of projects, supporting best-in-class planning and controls in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Your new role

Reporting to the Superintendent Project Controls, you will play a key role in ensuring robust project planning, schedule integrity, and stakeholder alignment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules in Primavera P6 aligned to project maturity
  • Producing Basis of Schedule documentation in line with company standards
  • Analysing project performance, identifying risks, deviations, and opportunities for improvement
  • Reviewing and validating contractor schedules, progress methodologies, and compliance
  • Conducting site visits to verify progress, sequencing, and forecast accuracy
  • Supporting the establishment and management of project baselines
  • Generating productivity and trend reports to inform decision-making
  • Driving alignment across planning, cost, estimating, and contracts teams
  • Providing expert planning insights and technical support to key stakeholders


What you’ll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in Project Planning within mining, construction, or major projects
  • Advanced capability in Primavera P6
  • Strong understanding of schedule management principles and techniques
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment with tight reporting deadlines
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills across all levels
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a strong attention to detail
  • Commitment to safety and collaborative teamwork
