Your new role
- Accountable for the overall delivery of projects to agreed criteria, within commercially competitive standards for safety, cost, timeliness, quality, and scope and to the expectations of our customers and stakeholders.
- The position will manage and deliver projects that are challenging but significant in terms of value, complexity, visibility and reputational impact.

- Reduce delivery risks by actively managing project risk to increase the success rate of projects.
- Support the delivery of the Corporate Strategy, ensuring the effective and efficient use of valuable project and business resources.
- Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times.
- Work with ambiguity in a dynamic environment; maintain a flexible approach in setting priorities and meeting targets.
- Delivering projects in a compliant way to agreed standards, scope, time and cost with competing demands on resources and business pressures.
- Actively manage project risks and issues in the projects to ensure successful delivery.
- Managing the expectations of stakeholders, whilst building and motivating project teams in a challenging delivery environment.
- Providing high-level technical subject matter expertise.
- Ensure project financials are managed, maintained, forecasted and can be reported upon in terms of Capex and Opex.
- Report the status of the assigned projects proactively and on an ongoing basis to key stakeholders and Team Leader, and co-ordinate and manage the work of the project team through up-to-date resource plans and project schedules.
- Identify and actively manage project assumptions, risks, issues and dependencies associated with delivery, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are established and actively managed.
- Ensure project and quality assurance controls and gate checks are undertaken to minimise risk to delivery, costs and quality.
- Conduct stakeholder analysis and establish effective stakeholder management plans.
- Ensure that all project documentation is completed appropriately and satisfies NFIT requirements.
- Support and build effective project teams across diverse functions of the enterprise to deliver required project and program outcomes.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to less experienced project management employees.
What you'll need to succeed
- Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering or Construction Management or relevant discipline
- Broad and extensive knowledge and worked as a Project Manager for a minimum of 8 + years with demonstrated experience in high-value/highly complex projects.
- A successful record of delivering complex, large-value, high-risk projects within a constrained timeframe.
- Experience with Primavera P6.
- Ability to professionally engage stakeholders, both written and verbal, including presenting project progress to management.
- Self-motivated and the ability to manage time and prioritise effort.
- Industry experience with a working understanding of the electrical network and relevant work practices, policies and standards.
- At least 8 to 10 years demonstrated extensive experience managing and delivering complex projects and programs utilising industry-standard project methodology such as PMBOK or Prince 2.
