Your new company

Our State Government Department clients is seeking an experienced Project Finance Business Partner to join their established Finance team, this will be on a 6-month contract basis with the possibility of extension.

Your new role

• Provide assistance and support to the wider Project Management team on monthly accruals and forecasting, under the guidance of the Project Finance Business Partnering Manager.
• Support Project Managers in costing and budgeting for new and existing projects, with direction from the Project Finance Business Partnering Manager.
• Deliver specialist financial support in developing project cost forecasts, leveraging forecasting models and integrating with existing systems, as guided by the Project Finance Business Partnering Manager.
• Act as a liaison between finance staff and the business support team to ensure accuracy and reliability of project financial data, and investigate any variances.
• Apply analytical and problem-solving techniques to enhance the accuracy of project financial information.
• Provide timely, proactive financial advice to stakeholders regarding the health and performance of the project portfolio and Directorate.

What you'll need to succeed

• Demonstrated experience in a Project Accounting or similar financial role.
• Proven capability in project budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial analysis.
• Ability to coach, influence, and advise stakeholders to adopt financial management best practices.
• Strong skills in building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent written communication and negotiation skills.

• Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Finance, or Accounting, with eligibility for membership to CA, CPA, or IPA.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in using financial management systems within large, complex organisations.
