My client is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the concept development, design and delivery of power generation projects across Australia. This is a permanent opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of strategically important energy infrastructure supporting the transition of Australia’s energy market.
About the RoleReporting into the Infrastructure Delivery division, you will provide engineering leadership across the full project lifecycle, from early concept and FEED through to commissioning and integration into operations. Acting as Owner’s Engineer, you will ensure robust, compliant and commercially sound engineering outcomes across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead concept engineering, design development and technical solution definition for power projects
- Prepare, review and approve engineering documentation, including FEED studies, specifications, data sheets, calculations, reports and drawings.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across pipelines, planning & approvals, grid connections, procurement and operations to align technical solutions with project and business objectives.
- Provide technical input into business case development, contract strategies and commercial negotiations
- Manage engineering deliverables from vendors, OEMs and contractors, ensuring clear technical interfaces across multi‑contract delivery models
- Support project delivery teams from Final Investment Decision (FID) through to commissioning and handover, ensuring smooth integration
About YouYou are a technically strong and commercially aware engineering leader with experience delivering power assets in an owner or client‑side environment.
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, eligible for corporate membership of Engineers Australia (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in the design, procurement and installation of power generation assets, ideally in an Owner’s Engineer or client‑side role
- Strong capability to make sound engineering decisions that support asset reliability, safety and long‑term performance
- Solid knowledge of Australian Standards and relevant international codes
- Working knowledge of environmental, health and safety legislative requirements
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), RPEQ, or eligibility to obtain registration within 12 months
