About the role
An exciting opportunity exists to lead the development of a regionally significant Urban Water Strategy—an essential planning tool that ensures safe, sustainable water and wastewater services for growing communities. This strategy is built in collaboration with stakeholders and the public, aiming to support resilient, liveable towns while balancing environmental, social, and economic outcomes across the water cycle.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Strategic Water Resources Specialist, you will:
Plan and deliver a comprehensive process aligned with Urban Water Strategy Guidelines.
Review water supply and demand forecasts and support the development of sustainability and drought preparedness actions.
Lead cross-functional working groups, clarify roles, and foster collaboration.
Compile technical data and produce a community-friendly strategy document using strong writing and digital presentation skills.
What You’ll Bring
Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Water Resources, or a related field.
Experience in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and community consultation.
Strong judgement and organisational skills to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes.
Understanding of water resource management, infrastructure planning, and risk mitigation.
Proven ability to lead and work across diverse teams and organisations.
Knowledge of effective consultation principles and customer engagement strategies.
Demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality reports, visual presentations, and graphical content for varied audiences.
