Project Buyer
Location: Perth CBD (with flexible work-from-home options)
Pay Rate: Approx. $70/hr + super (negotiable for the right candidate)
About the Role:
Exciting opportunity for a Project Buyer to work on a high-profile commercial project. Reporting to the Superintendent, you will ensure the efficient procurement of goods and services while adhering to established policies and procedures. This is a newly created role in a project expected to span over 3 years, offering a chance to make a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee procurement activities including quotations, bid evaluations, and supplier negotiations.
- Manage the award of Purchase and Service Orders across diverse categories like spare parts, consumables, capital equipment, and trades labour.
- Ensure Purchase Requisitions and other documents have proper authorisation and accuracy.
- Expedite orders proactively and assist with invoice queries for timely vendor payments.
- Resolve resource allocation challenges, vendor performance issues, and logistical constraints.
- Leverage ERP systems (preferably SAP) and Excel to enhance procurement efficiency.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in project procurement/supply chain.
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Familiarity with ERP systems; SAP experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of supply chain processes and construction project procurement.
- Basic understanding of account processing and related systems is a plus.
