A busy Civil Construction company in the Northern suburbs of Perth is looking for a Project Accountant starting ASAP.

Your new role

As the Project accountant you will be responsible for:

• Develop and manage detailed budgets, schedules, and resource allocations across civil projects, ensuring all expenditure aligns with approved financial parameters.
• Review purchase orders against budget and cost code allocations prior to submission; reconcile invoices with PO balances and prepare approval documentation.
• Maintain the job costing system and monitor project expenses daily, ensuring accurate allocation to relevant cost codes and adherence to financial controls.
• Analyse cost performance across civil projects, prepare weekly financial reports, and escalate significant findings to the CFO and senior leadership.
• Gather and interpret CTC and related data from project stakeholders, producing analytical reports and forecasts for weekly team reviews and any ad hoc requests.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to be an experienced accountant with a background in project-based accounting and or cost control. This role will suit someone who is available immediately or at short notice to start and who ideally has worked within the construction industry.
