Your new role

Principal Spatial Administrator

This position is responsible for the highly complex day-to-day management and oversight of Geographic Information System (GIS).
The role involves leading the management and optimisation of enterprise GIS systems and spatial data, including overseeing platforms, databases, and cloud-based solutions. It focusses on maintaining data integrity, system performance, and security while delivering advanced spatial analysis, reporting, and visualisations.
The position also requires providing expert GIS guidance, driving continuous improvement of spatial services, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance systems, implement best practices, and adopt emerging geospatial technologies.

What you'll need to succeed

The candidate demonstrates strong expertise in managing enterprise GIS platforms, spatial databases, and web-based mapping systems. They possess expert-level knowledge of the ESRI ArcGIS suite (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online) and FME, along with hands-on experience in data modelling and scripting using Python, SQL, and Arcade.
They bring strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities in spatial data analysis and system administration, supported by a solid understanding of cartographic principles and data visualisation techniques. Additionally, the candidate has excellent time management and stakeholder engagement skills, enabling them to effectively manage priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate across all levels of an organisation.
