Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Environmental Consultant to help lead their Contaminated Land team due to a retirement in the business. This is a strategic leadership role within their environmental division, offering the opportunity to shape project delivery, mentor a high-performing team, and drive technical excellence across a diverse portfolio of contaminated land projects in Victoria, and occasionally South Australia.

Your new role

• Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary team of environmental consultants.

• Project Management & Technical Delivery

• Oversee the delivery of complex contaminated land investigations, risk assessments, and remediation projects.

• Act as Project Director on high-profile assignments across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and property.

• Ensure projects meet regulatory, technical, and client standards.

• Client Engagement & Business Development

• Lead proposal development and contribute to strategic business growth.

• Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental compliance.

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field.

• 10+ years of experience in contaminated land consulting, including leadership roles.

• Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP) preferred

• Strong technical expertise in site assessment, remediation, and environmental due diligence.

• Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and large-scale projects.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and report writing skills.

• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel for client meetings
