Practice Manager

A well‑established, multi‑office professional services firm is seeking an experienced Practice Manager

Your New Role

Reporting to senior leadership, you will take ownership of month ‑ end reporting, cashflow forecasting, and key finance cycles. You will oversee a capable accounts team who manage day ‑ to ‑ day processing, allowing you to remain focused on analysis, accuracy, and forward planning.

This is a hands ‑ on, influential role where your insights will shape operational and strategic decisions across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver monthly management reporting packs including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow and performance insights
  • Maintain a cashflow forecast, and support annual budgeting and major expenditure planning
  • Lead, coordinate and mentor the accounts team to ensure processing accuracy and timely completion of obligations
  • Oversee BAS, payroll tax (QLD/NSW/VIC), superannuation, payroll and contractor payments
  • Review WIP, disbursements and debtors, ensuring effective billing and recovery processes
  • Support multi ‑ entity reporting, including property ‑ related entities
  • Manage annual requirements including STP finalisation, payroll tax reconciliation, WorkCover/iCare, ASIC compliance and trust audit coordination
  • Maintain robust checklists, controls and reporting standards within Xero and internal systems

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong, hands ‑ on accounting/finance experience (professional services experience highly regarded)
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to interpret numbers, identify issues early and recommend practical solutions
  • Confident communicator able to explain financial insights to non ‑ finance stakeholders
  • High proficiency in Xero and exceptional attention to detail
  • Proactive, organised and comfortable working with autonomy
