Your New Role

Join a pioneering climate tech start-up as a Plant Operations Manager at their south Brisbane location. This dynamic role blends plant operations, process engineering, and project delivery, offering the chance to lead technical innovation and support customer projects in the bioenergy space. You’ll manage our demonstration plant, optimise processes, liaise with clients, and contribute to R&D strategy, all while helping scale a patented chemical desiccation technology that’s redefining sustainable waste treatment.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

You’ll thrive in this role if you’re hands-on, technically sharp, and passionate about sustainability. You’ll be working in a fast-paced start-up environment with global reach, so adaptability and initiative are key.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong project management and client-facing communication skills
  • Ability to lead small teams and translate technical data for stakeholders
  • Familiarity with WHS Act 2011, EPA licensing, and ISO 9001/14001/45001 systems
  • Experience with lab/plant equipment (e.g. moisture analysers, pellet extruders, dryers)
  • Ability to read/create P&IDs; basic CAD skills a plus
  • Data logging and reporting (Excel, Power BI)

Experience & Qualifications

  • 2–5 years in process/plant engineering or project management in waste-processing, bioenergy, or heavy industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering
  • Demonstrated experience scaling lab trials to pilot/commercial plants
  • Authorised to work in Australia
  • Current Australian driver’s licence (forklift licence a plus)
