This organisation is a leading provider of heavy equipment servicing and maintenance, with a strong reputation for safety, quality and technical excellence. Due to continued growth in Melbourne, we are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join the Port Melbourne workshop.
Your new role: Working within a unique port environment, you will be responsible for the diagnostics, repair and maintenance of a diverse fleet of port machinery, including terminal tractors, reach stackers and other specialised equipment. This is a hands-on workshop-based role where attention to detail and safety are critical to keeping operations moving.
Your new role
- Servicing, repairs and maintenance on heavy diesel port equipment
- Advanced diagnostics and fault-finding
- Maintaining accurate job cards and service records
- Completing quality assurance checks on work completed by apprentices and junior mechanics
- Upholding high standards of safety, housekeeping and professionalism
- Collaborating with supervisors and team members to meet priorities and deadlines
What you'll need to succeed
- Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic (Diesel Technology or equivalent)
- Experience working on heavy diesel equipment
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Good time management and ability to work to job times
- Safety-focused with a positive, team-first attitude
- Current car driving licence
Desirable: Forklift licence
