As a Payroll Officer within a WA State Government department, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely payroll services to employees across the agency. Your new role
- Process payroll transactions including pay, leave entitlements, and adjustments.
- Review and verify employee-initiated transactions in HR/payroll systems.
- Provide timely and accurate advice to internal stakeholders on payroll matters.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee queries.
- Manage overpayment recovery processes and liaise with relevant parties.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
- Assist with end-of-month and end-of-financial-year payroll reporting.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within payroll operations.
What you'll need to succeed
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience in payroll processing within a complex organisation.
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation, awards, and agreements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
- Proficiency in payroll systems (Ascender)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
