Based in the north-east of Adelaide, our client provides a range of services, infrastructure and facilities that support the wellbeing of their community through a defined framework of statutory and regulatory requirements. Currently looking to appoint an experienced Payroll Specialist to assist in the implementation of a new payroll system, they offer a rich and dynamic workplace culture that fosters an environment of teamwork and inclusivity.

Your New Role
Reporting to the Team Leader Finance Transformation, Customer and Rating, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for providing specialist payroll advice to the organisation and for supporting the implementation of the payroll system. Key responsibilities will include:
  • Providing best practice advice around process setup for all aspects of the project
  • Development of reporting and information to internal and external customers
  • Creation of training materials
  • Reconciliation of current and new systems ensuring integrity of data
  • Ongoing education of staff in self-service functions of the payroll system
  • Assisting with development of and completing UAT
Please note: This is 12-month temporary position offering an immediate start.

What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for an experienced, self-directed, and driven candidate who is excited by the prospect of applying their in-depth knowledge of payroll matters and the ability to advise of specialist payroll considerations. Essential to this role are:
  • Experience working on payroll implementation project(s)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships across the business
  • Sound understanding of Superannuation, pay increases, backpays and other payments as required
  • Understanding of payments and deductions in accordance with relevant policies/procedures and legislation
  • Extensive level of experience in taxation legislation as it pertains to payroll
  • High level planning and prioritising skills and meeting competing deadlines
