Your new role
This role supports the delivery of accurate and reliable payroll services within a busy and collaborative environment. You’ll play a key part in processing regular payroll cycles as well as supporting large‑scale workforce operations during peak events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support end‑to‑end payroll processing using a web‑based payroll system
- Assist with regular payroll cycles and payroll activities during major operational periods
- Perform manual payroll calculations, including long service leave in line with legislation
- Upload and process banking files and superannuation contributions, including clearing house and bulk upload processing
- Contribute to payroll projects involving analysis, reconciliation, auditing, and continuous improvement
- Prepare payroll reports and undertake advanced Excel work, including number‑crunching and complex reconciliations
- Apply basic accounting principles, including debits/credits, liability reconciliations, and year‑end adjustments
- Map processes and document procedures to support operational clarity and improvement
- Interpret payroll legislation and provide advice on tax, superannuation, and related matters
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
What you'll need to succeed
- End-to-end payroll processing experience
- Systems experience in Aurion would be advantageous but is not essential as long as you have strong systems experience.
- Work proactively and independently, making informed decisions without reliance on detailed manuals.
- Build strong working relationships, partnering effectively with employees, managers, and people team colleagues
- Communicate clearly and contribute to a friendly, collaborative, and easy‑going team culture
