Payroll Officer

Seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a government team in Perth CBD immediately

Your new company

A government organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join the team immediately. You will be engaged on a temporary contract initially, working full-time hours out of the Perth CBD office.


Your new role

  • Process end-to-end payroll for [insert number] employees on a [weekly/fortnightly/monthly] basis
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data
  • Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations
  • Handle employee queries regarding pay, leave, and entitlements
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure smooth payroll operations
  • Assist with year-end processes including PAYG summaries and superannuation reporting


What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in a payroll position, ideally within the state government sector
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., MYOB, Xero, SAP, etc.)
  • Understanding of Australian payroll legislation and taxation
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
