Your new role
As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of complex, high-volume fortnightly and monthly payrolls across multiple entities and states. This includes payroll administration, reporting, and providing responsive support to internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Accurate and timely processing of payroll for over 800 employees across TAS, VIC, SA, and WA
- Administration of superannuation, PAYG, leave accruals, and termination payments
- Interpretation and application of awards, agreements, and contracts
- Preparation of payroll reports to meet internal and statutory obligations
- Liaising with internal teams and external bodies, including ATO and superannuation funds
- Supporting payroll system transitions and maintaining employee records
- Providing high-quality customer service to staff and management on payroll-related matters
Work arrangements:
- Initial requirement to travel to East Melbourne (3 set days/fortnight) for payroll processing during the first 2–3 months
- Remaining days based in the Geelong office
- Transition to 5 days in office at Geelong following onboarding period
What you'll need to succeed - Minimum 2 years’ experience in payroll, ideally within a large and complex environment
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation and award interpretation
- High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to confidentiality and data integrity
- Desirable: Proficiency in Micropay, Humanforce, and HR3 systems
