You will be working with a global systems process change company based in the Southeast of Melbourne. With expertise in automating, enforcing and unifying change processes, they aim to accelerate innovation and minimise the risk of manual handling in intricate system environments.

Your new role

You will be responsible for the oversight of end-to-end payroll operations for the Australian business, ensuring complete accuracy, compliance and timeliness. Managing the payroll of 50+ employees in Australia, and managing the payroll delivered through external providers globally, acting as the internal owner of payroll reporting, governance, and controls.

This dynamic role will also encompass assisting with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, with other ad hoc tasks to be expected.

  • Manage and oversee end‑to‑end Australian payroll for 50+ employees.
  • Coordinate and review payroll processed by external payroll providers.
  • Ensure accurate processing of salaries, wages, bonuses, commissions, superannuation, and terminations.
  • Act as the main liaison between the business and payroll service providers.
  • Ensure full compliance with Fair Work, ATO, superannuation, and payroll tax requirements.
  • Maintain payroll controls, documentation, and audit‑ready records.
  • Manage payroll reporting, reconciliations, and month‑end activities.
  • Handle employee payroll queries and manage HR systems for leave and entitlements.
  • Support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable during high‑volume periods.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and system optimisation across payroll and finance.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience of managing payroll in Australia.
  • Strong knowledge of Payroll legislation, superannuation, and tax requirements.
  • Experience working with outsourced payroll providers would be highly regarded.
  • Understanding of accounting principles, with hands-on exposure to AR and AP processes.
  • High attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and support cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
