Hays Office Support are currently seeking a Payroll Officer for a well-known Tasmanian organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to join their team & assist with requirements relating to payroll and financial services. The role will require full-time hours and be offered as a temporary position, with the potential for a permanent opportunity in the near future.

Your new role

Based an hour south of Hobart on the Eastern Shore, our client is an organisation that focusses on providing essential services for Tasmanian tourism and protecting heritage sites. As the Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for assisting with timely and accurate end-to-end preparation of fortnightly and monthly payroll, providing efficient responses to employee enquiries, and providing support to other payroll personnel.
You will provide administrative support in managing documentation, including maintaining payroll-related procedures. If you are interested in a payroll position and have experience in this field, this is the job for you!

What you'll need to succeed

To be a successful applicant, you'll have demonstrated experience working in a payroll position. In addition, you will have:
  • Proven experience in high volume end-to-end payroll processing
  • Outstanding accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required to develop strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Sound knowledge of Chris 21 or a similar Payroll system
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel intermediate to advanced).
