Payroll Officer | $44 per hour | 12 month assignment | government organisation

Your new company

Work as a payroll officer for a government organisation. You’ll be part of a supportive team, located in Goulbourn.

Your new role

  • Manage a portfolio of workers compensation claims across the Department working closely with key stakeholders to ensure entitlements are processed in accordance with legislative requirements.

  • Create a positive customer experience providing services, support and advice on workers compensation administration using the knowledge base and escalating complex issues to local experts.

  • Follow agreed processes to maintain master data within the enterprise resource planning system and records within the records management system ensuring changes are authorised within Department delegations, and data accuracy, compliance and availability.

  • Maintain knowledge of and interpret employment conditions, entitlements, legislation, awards, policies, procedures. Complete manual calculations and adjustments to ensure the integrity of payments, and entitlements.

    What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience in payroll processing such as; Workers compensation/ Appointments, leave, allowances and terminations is ideal but not essential

  • Customer service experience – retail/contact centre

  • Strong computer literacy skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Critical thinking skills

    What you'll get in return

  • 12-month assignment which is likely to be extended

  • Standard office hours, Mon-Fri

  • Office located in Goulbourn

  • Supportive and friendly work environment

  • Flexibility to WFH up to 2 days per week after training period
