A highly regarded national not‑for‑profit organisation is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to support its finance function on a 6‑month temporary basis. Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will support the day-to-day finance operations with a focus on accuracy, efficiency and strong financial controls. Your responsibilities will include:
Processing accounts payable and receivable, including invoice coding, payments, invoicing and receipt allocation.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records within the general ledger.
Performing regular bank, balance sheet and credit card reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
Assisting with month-end processes, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
Supporting payroll processing and reconciling payroll-related accounts.
Assisting with financial reporting, audit preparation and compliance requirements.
Monitoring transactions across funding streams, projects and grants to ensure accurate allocation and reporting.
Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and financial controls.
This is a varied, hands-on role offering exposure to a broad range of finance activities within a not‑for‑profit environment.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Relevant qualifications or experience in bookkeeping, accounting or finance.
Proven experience in accounts payable, reconciliations and general bookkeeping duties.
A sound understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Proficiency in financial systems and strong Excel skills.
The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders.
Experience supporting audits, compliance activities or grant-based environments will be highly regarded.
