Your new role

Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager Northern, your key responsibility will be to manage and supervise the operations of the depot/bulk warehouse in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner to maximise the distribution of their product to the customer and ensure operational targets are achieved. This is a hands-on role that will require you to also be on the production floor. What you'll need to succeed

You will present with 5+ years’ experience in a Supervisory or Leadership role in operations, manufacturing or production and ideally have demonstrated knowledge of bulk materials handling and blending operations in a comparable industry.

You will also have:
  • A demonstrated knowledge of fertiliser, cement or similar blending/batching and distribution practices will be beneficial
  • Relevant TAFE certificate, trade qualifications or industry knowledge that will support the role
  • You will hold, or be prepared to obtain, a front-end loader and forklift competency and licence.
  • The ability and drive to lead a strong safety and risk culture and to competently identify and manage risk factors (WHSE)
  • Proven ability and practical experience understanding and implementing budgeting, P&L’s and cost management processes including monthly analysis and planning
  • Proven experience in maintenance practices and management systems
  • A proactive approach to maintaining customer and stakeholder relationships
  • The ability to set priorities, manage competing tasks and operate effectively under pressure.
  • A natural aptitude for leadership and highlighting the ability to provide leadership and to ensure resources are effectively utilised and business strategic goals are achieved
  • The willingness to adapt to flexible working arrangements, including some weekend work due to the seasonality of the business
  • Proficiency in computer use, including SAP and Microsoft Office applications
  • This is a site-based role which may require you to attend site outside of the ordinary hours of work, in case of emergency or to deal with specific business requirements, so living fairly close to the site in Kooragang Island, or willing to relocate, will be essential.
