A respected government department committed to delivering high quality services is seeking an experienced and motivated Office Manager / Executive Assistant to oversee the delivery of exceptional administrative, operational and executive support. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving service improvement, strengthening business systems, and supporting senior leadership through efficient, professional and customer focused administration.


Your new role

As the Office Manager / Executive Assistant, you will provide strategic direction and day to day oversight of a team of administrative staff, ensuring the delivery of seamless, responsive and high quality support services. You will lead improvements to systems, processes and workflows, while maintaining a strong focus on customer service, confidentiality and organisational compliance. You will be responsible for:

  • Leading, mentoring and developing administrative staff to achieve high performance and service excellence
  • Overseeing executive support functions, including diary management, correspondence, meeting coordination and document preparation
  • Managing operational workflows, monitoring quality and timeliness, and ensuring compliance with policies and governance frameworks
  • Streamlining administrative and business support systems to improve efficiency and continuity
  • Coordinating projects, reports, briefings and service improvements across the division
  • Managing complex enquiries, supporting decision making and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
  • Ensuring effective information and records management practices

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an experienced administrative leader with the ability to guide teams through change and deliver high quality outcomes in a fast paced environment. You will demonstrate:

  • Strong leadership capability with proven experience developing and motivating staff
  • Exceptional organisational and problem solving skills
  • High level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Experience delivering executive level administrative support
  • Ability to build productive relationships across multiple stakeholders
  • Proven experience overseeing system improvements, process redesign and workflow optimisation
  • Strong judgement, confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Experience within complex, multidisciplinary or government environments will be highly regarded.
