Your new role

As a Motor Assessor, you will play a key role in accurately assessing vehicle damage and determining safe, cost-effective repair methods. You’ll balance delivering the best possible outcome for customers with maintaining commercial integrity for the business.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out accurate vehicle damage assessments to establish appropriate repair methods

  • Providing a high standard of customer service, both over the phone and face-to-face

  • Ensuring all assessments align with underwriting guidelines, policy conditions and claims procedures

  • Preparing detailed reports and negotiating repair scopes and costs with repairers

  • Managing rectifications in line with the Industry Code of Conduct and supporting cost recovery processes

  • Working closely with a state-based team to resolve complex repair scenarios

  • Supporting efficient repair turnaround times to enhance customer satisfaction

  • Conducting assessments across multiple channels, including digital and in-person formats


What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience within the motor body repair industry, and a certificate in panel beating or spray-painting.

  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders

  • An understanding of insurance policies and claims processes (either through direct claims experience or broader insurance exposure)

  • A valid Victorian driving licence.

  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a larger team environment
