Our Client operates a Mobility Service Centre in Mackay, Queensland, specialising in repairs and maintenance for the rail industry. The facility supports regional customers, ensuring reliable service and technical expertise to enhance fleet performance. Your new role

• Fit and machine precision components to ensure smooth machinery operation

• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

• Install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems and equipment

• Operate (or learn to operate) lathes, milling machines, and other workshop equipment

• Conduct regular maintenance checks and troubleshoot mechanical issues

• Adhere to safety regulations and company standards

• Work collaboratively with team members to enhance production efficiency
  
  

What you'll need to succeed

• Relevant trade qualification and mechanical fitting experience

• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical documents

• Experience with machining and mechanical systems maintenance

• Commitment to workplace safety and best practices

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  
  

What you'll get in return

You will be offered a role working local to the Mackay Region. You will be working on a Monday to Friday roster (approx 38 hrs per week) with the opportunity for a half Saturday shift. Hays will pay you on a weekly basis, and you will be paid an attractive hourly rate + penalties & super. Our position is commencing ASAP in the Mackay Region and is long term for the right candidate.
