Hays are excited to partner with a tier one mining organisation within Queensland’s Mining industry, currently seeking multiple Mechanical Designers.

Your new role

Throughout your new role as Mechanical Designer (Plant 3D or Inventor), you will have the opportunity to design equipment, modelling, and detail drawings as well as assist with plant layouts for a range of mining plants and equipment. You will work as part of a team consisting of process and mechanical engineers and drafters implementing our design office standards.
Your daily accountabilities will include:
  • Design equipment, 3D modelling and detail drawings
  • Assist with plant layouts for a range of mining plants and equipment
  • Work to meet office policies and procedures
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to solve complex problems

What you'll need to succeed

  • Drafting certification with at least five years’ experience is highly regarded
  • 5 years’ experience in Autodesk Inventor or Plant3D would be advantageous
  • Prior experience in the mining industry
  • Prior experience in Navisworks is an advantage
  • Strong problem-solving, prioritisation and time management skills, with extremely high level of attention to detail
  • Show initiative and work with minimal direction, being resourceful and proactive in your approach
