Mechanic Service technician

A well‑established organisation within the industrial and equipment hire sector is seeking an experienced Service Technician to join a high‑performing service team. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically minded technician who enjoys hands‑on work, problem‑solving and working with modern hire equipment.

Your new role

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing a diverse fleet of hire equipment to ensure safety, reliability and readiness for hire. This role involves a mix of workshop and on-site work, with a strong focus on quality, compliance and customer service.
Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting mechanical inspections, scheduled servicing and routine maintenance in line with manufacturer specifications and SHEQ requirements
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues to identify the root cause of faults or equipment failure
  • Completing repairs to restore equipment to full operational functionality
  • Ensuring all service documentation, reports and paperwork are completed accurately and submitted on time
  • Assisting with monitoring equipment reliability and hire readiness at a branch level
  • Inspecting equipment on return and promptly reporting any customer-related damage to management to ensure costs can be captured and recovered.
  • Cleaning and preparing equipment to ensure it meets hire standards and presentation requirements
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with customers and suppliers as required
  • Undertaking additional duties as directed by management in line with your skills, knowledge and experience

What you'll need to succeed

Trade qualification in mechanical, hydraulics, fitter and/or auto electrician

1 – 3 years relevant experience

• High attention to detail and accuracy
