Major Shutdown Project Engineer

Your new role

  • Develop detailed engineering plans aligned with shutdown schedules and scope
  • Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and contractors to confirm technical requirements
  • Manage procurement of critical materials and ensure timely delivery
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, and company policies
  • Provide technical support during execution and resolve engineering issues promptly.
  • Conduct post-shutdown reviews to capture lessons learnt and recommend improvements

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree in Mechanical, Structural, or related Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project engineering within mining, oil & gas, or heavy industry
  • Proven experience in major shutdowns or turnarounds
  • Strong knowledge of engineering standards, project management principles, and shutdown execution
  • Proficiency in MS Project and engineering design tools
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure with attention to detail and technical accuracy
  • Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
