Our client is a global competitor within the Defence Industry and they are currently seeking a Maintenance Support Technician to join their team on a permanent basis. Located in Western Sydney, they support naval platforms within Defence and their technical services.

Your new role

As Maintenance Support Technician you will join a larger team of Technical Officers, Engineers and Technicians who support the manufacture, repairs, and maintenance of streamers for naval platform.

• Provide support to the manufacturing team through equipment maintenance - ensure equipment is fit for production
• Maintain a strong technical know how across production and manufacturing equipment and processes
• Maintenance and repair of production and manufacturing equipment
• Maintain routine maintenance reports – processes ad upcoming manufacturing or repair activities
• Modification and fabrication of tooling and fixtures as required – basic machining tasks
• Coordinate repairs and maintenance activities with external contractors as required
• Commission and installation of new plant

What you'll need to succeed

• Be able to obtain Defence NV1 clearances
• Mechanical background with some electrical experience - ideal for someone with 2+ years post qualification experience
• Experience in fault finding and breakdown attendance including documentation of processes
• Strong communication skills
• MS Office products working knowledge
• Tool room experience (Lathe, Mill etc)
• Fork lift licence is desirable
• Experience with welding or metal fabrication is highly regarded
• Defence Industry experience is preferred
