Your New Role
As a Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and presentation of the school’s facilities and grounds. This full-time role (Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm) includes a variety of responsibilities such as:
- Performing general maintenance and maintenance person tasks (e.g., painting, patching, carpentry, basic plumbing)
- Maintaining grounds and gardens, including waste collection and presentation
- Replacing lightbulbs and conducting minor cleaning jobs
- Monitoring and maintaining pool plant and equipment
- Driving a 24-seater school bus for student transport to sport and excursions
- Supporting the setup and pack-down of school functions and events
- Ensuring storage and work areas are tidy and well-organised
- Signing in tradespeople and coordinating deliveries
- Identifying and reporting safety concerns around the campus
- Contributing to a safe and secure school environment by following WH&S policies
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A trade background or equivalent experience in maintenance or maintenance person work
- A Light Rigid Motor Vehicle Licence (or willingness to obtain one)
- Experience in a school or similar environment is highly regarded.
- An ability to obtain a working with children check.
- Strong service orientation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A proactive, adaptable, and well-organised approach with attention to detail
