Are you a skilled maintenance professional with aged-care experience and a valid National Police Check and up-to-date flu vaccination? We’re seeking a reliable Handyman to join a single-storey aged-care home in Wollongong, supporting residents in a warm, community-focused environment.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Residential Aged Care Manager, you will:
- Assist care and hospitality teams with general repairs and preventative maintenance
- Coordinate and supervise external contractors for specialised repair work
- Conduct routine safety checks of facility fixtures, fittings and communal areas
- Respond promptly to resident maintenance requests, ensuring minimal downtime
- Maintain accurate service logs and assist with stock reconciliation for spare parts
Assignment Details
- Preferred start date: (immediate availability preferred)
- Shift pattern: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday–Friday
- Location: Wollongong
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in an aged-care or residential facility maintenance role
- Current National Police Check (to be sighted on commencement)
- Trade qualification or substantial hands-on maintenance background
- Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with staff, residents, and contractors
- Commitment to workplace health, safety, and resident wellbeing
- 2025 flu vaccination
- National Police check
