A Victorian public sector organisation is seeking an experienced Logistics Officer to join their team on a 12‑month assignment. Your new role
You will be responsible for the accurate and compliant management of sensitive inventory, property and/or evidence. This includes end-to-end handling from receipt and storage through to auditing, distribution, return, and disposal. Working within established frameworks, you will ensure security, accountability, and traceability at all times.
The role combines warehouse operations with administrative responsibilities, stakeholder communication, and adherence to strict legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, catalogue, store, distribute, return, and dispose of items in line with policies and legislation.
- Conduct routine audits to maintain accuracy, security, and accountability.
- Operate warehouse equipment and perform manual handling tasks safely.
- Prepare documentation, statistics, and basic reporting for management.
- Contribute to risk mitigation and safety improvement initiatives.
- Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in warehousing, logistics, inventory, or property management.
- Ability to use inventory systems and general software packages confidently.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines independently.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong customer service focus.
- Commitment to ethical conduct, accuracy, and compliance.
- Forklift licence.
- Australian Citizenship (due to security clearance requirements).
- Current Victorian Driver Licence.
- Ability to pass fingerprint checks, probity screening, and employment history verification.
- Capacity to undertake physical tasks when required.
