Your new role

As an APS6 Legal Officer with a focus on litigation, you will be integral to managing and supporting legal cases related to sports integrity. Your responsibilities will include:
• Providing legal advice and support on litigation matters, including preparing and managing cases from inception to resolution.
• Conducting thorough legal research and analysis to support litigation efforts, ensuring all arguments are well-founded and robust.
• Drafting and reviewing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Representing the organisation in court proceedings, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Developing and implementing legal strategies to effectively manage and resolve disputes.
• Liaising with stakeholders, including national sporting organisations, athletes, and legal professionals, to gather evidence and build strong cases.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and staying updated on legal developments in sports law.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of legal processes and frameworks within the organisation.

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor of Laws or equivalent legal qualification and an admission as a legal practitioner in Australia.
• Proven experience in litigation, in private practice or public sector.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
