Legal Director (Employment)

Your new role

Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will lead a high performing team, while being very hands-on in working with senior leadership-in investigating conduct matters and advising on partnership and complex employment-related matters. Some of your duties include but are not limited to:

  • Support strong and trusted relationships with internal clients and governance bodies
  • Provide trusted and sensible advice on employee relations and conduct related matters and investigations
  • Assist with the review, legal analysis and preparation of advice to their business clients on a variety of matters while working closely with the organisations' people & Culture, Partner Affairs Office and compliance teams.
  • Provide focused and pragmatic solutions to address legal risk and business problems


What you'll need to succeed

  • Admitted to practice as a lawyer in Australia.

  • Ideally, a minimum of 14 years PAE, with experience gained in a reputable mid/top tier firm and/or similar large corporation.

  • Experience and excellence in the field of advising on employment and partnership matters is essential.

  • Previous people leadership experience.

  • You have experience in engaging and collaborating with senior management.

  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • You can identify and consider critical issues and assess and articulate legal risks.
