Learning Designer position
Our Client

Our client is in the education sector and is looking for experienced Learning Designers to join the team on a 12-month fixed-term contract with the potential to go permanent.


The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Learning designers to join the team to look after a transition project. This role is to provide strategic planning advice and direction to support academic staff across schools with the uptake, development and evaluation of pedagogies, technologies and resources to enhance teaching quality and support student learning in the coursework degree programs.


Responsibilities

  • Design and develop engaging, best practice informed online learning content
  • Partner with academics and schools to guide and enable the initial design and enhancement of units.
  • Guide and support innovative teaching practices.
  • Liaise with multimedia specialists to ensure valuable design and delivery of artefacts.
  • Implement university-wide projects at the local level
  • Understand the development needs of academic staff in the schools and contribute to the development and delivery of the digital development program.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and review to support implementation of innovative course and unit content.

Requirements

Essentials

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Substantial relevant experience in digital and online educational design
  • Knowledge and experience in the integration and evaluation of curricula to facilitate and develop appropriate, effective, and innovative learning solutions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary pedagogical theories and practices in higher education, with the ability to apply these theories, best practices, and practical experience to analyse and solve complex teaching and learning challenges.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and agreed outcomes and plan and implement new initiatives.
  • Proficiency in a range of computing skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet and email.
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively as part of a team in a complex environment.
  • Ensure you are aware of and comply with legislation and policies.
  • Experience and good working knowledge of one or more Learning Management Systems.

Desirable

  • Experience and good working knowledge of Anthology’s Blackboard Learning Management System.
  • Experience of how Learning Management Systems are used for teaching within a university environment.
  • Experience in facilitating professional development frameworks, processes, and programs in education.
