My client is a marine and offshore specialist who require a Leading Hand Diesel Mechanic, based in Perth, with a requirement to travel globally from time to time.

Your new role

Your new role of Leading Hand Diesel Mechanic will require the following:

• Management of jobs either on sole projects or leading a team (including management of time)
• First line response to the job for delivery on time and quality issues
• Ensures that the job documentation is provided on a clear and timely basis
• Maintain a visually organised workplace
• Attend daily operational reviews and conduct Pre-Start briefs
• Identify opportunities for additional work and report to management
• Requisitions material required to meet production goals.
• Interpret company policies for Service Mechanics and enforce safety regulations.
• Interpret specifications and job orders to Service Mechanics and assigns duties.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and the use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the workshop, or work crew
• Machinery selection and commissioning, performance monitoring and productive maintenance management.
• Carry out basic equipment maintenance, identify and correct faults and report to manager if required
• Vehicle fleet maintenance

What you'll need to succeed

To be a success in this role, you will need a t least three (3) years of relevant experience and a Certificate III or IV or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical).
• Interpretation of drawings, plans and designs of mechanical equipment
• Design of tooling to repair equipment
• You will need to have full Australian working rights (permanent resident or citizen)
• Ability to carry out major medium and high-speed engine overhauls
• Provide Cost Estimates for Materials, Equipment, and/or Labour
• Completion of jobs to agreed timescales
• Ability to investigate problems and identify solutions
• Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to manage concurrent priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven success in leading teams to achieve results
• Sound computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and database systems.
• Current C Class Driving Licence
• National Police Certificate
• Passport
• White Card
• Forklift Licence


What you'll get in return

This permanent role will pay a base salary of $56.50per hour, but with a living away from home allowance, super and penalties (overtime set at 1.5 of the hourly rate), there is an opportunity to earn up to $200'000. You will need to be either a permanent Australian resident or Citizen and be able to travel tp be considered for this role.
