Your new role

• Leading the mechanical engineering function across complex platforms and projects
• Providing technical authority across mechanical systems including:
  • Propulsion and drive systems and associated support systems
  • Pumps, piping and auxiliary systems
  • HVAC and refrigeration systems
  • Fire, sea water, fresh water and waste water systems
  • Fuel, compressed air, gas and hydraulic systems
• Applying robust systems engineering processes to mechanical system design and integration
• Leading design coordination activities, technical investigations and root cause analysis
• Overseeing the development and review of engineering documentation, including designs, analyses, reports and installation work packages
• Planning and coordinating engineering activities from concept through to delivery
• Leading and mentoring engineers within the mechanical discipline
• Chairing design coordination and design review meetings with internal and external stakeholders
• Liaising with customers, suppliers, regulators and assurance bodies as required
• Ensuring compliance with applicable engineering standards, regulations and quality requirements
• Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated outcomes

What you'll need to succeed

• Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
• Significant, proven experience in mechanical engineering roles within complex or regulated environments
• Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams
• Strong background in mechanical system design and platform integration
• Experience working in configuration‑controlled, standards‑driven environments
• Ability to review and approve technical designs and engineering documentation
• Experience with CAD tools and standard engineering software
• Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to operate autonomously, manage competing priorities and deliver under pressure
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain NV1 security clearance
