Your new role
As the Senior Mechanical Engineer you will become a pivotal force across defence maritime design programs. You will be the go-to technical expert, mentoring junior engineers and ensuring designs are compliant and effective.

In this dynamic position, you’ll work hand-in-hand with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to craft solutions that not only meet operational requirements but also set industry standards and align with project goals. Key tasks involve overseeing development, design, and integration activities and offering expert advice on mechanical engineering & marine engineering supporting design. You will also be involved in key stakeholder engagement activities.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Australian Citizenship is a mandatory requirement due to defence industry regulations.
  • Extensive senior engineering experience in the defence or maritime industry, including shipbuilding projects.
  • Degree-level tertiary qualifications.
  • Extensive knowledge of naval vessel design regulations, standards, and best practices, with experience in Defence contracting and military/government documentation standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, balancing technical, operational, and commercial factors.
  • Familiar with design software, simulation tools, and project management methodologies is highly regarded.
